IBBackupSurgeon使用了其特有的存取訪問層讀取InterBase和Firebird數據庫的備份文件。即使大部分的備份文件都已丟失，其也能從被破壞的備份文件中獲取數據。此外，其還使用正常備份文件中的元數據定義，以及用之從帶被損壞的元數據的備份文件中檢索數據。

IBBackupSurgeon可以幫助用戶從數據庫中讀取和提取所有的元數據，包括存儲流程文本，觸發器，計算字段等，其以原始文本和SQL的方式呈現元數據。

授權和售價

目前我們提供了三種IBBackupSurgeon版本：“基礎版”，“專業版”和“技術支持版”。基礎版可以從常見的被破壞的備份中保存數據，專業版允許用戶重用完整的備份的結構，以保存使用相同結構的那些重度損壞的備份文件的數據。而技術支持版則適用于用戶需要使用IBBackupSurgeon整理備份文件，且屬于第三方使用的情況（其帶授權限制，請詳細閱讀相關授權）

Product Properties

IBBackupSurgeon uses its own access layer for reading backups of InterBase and Firebird databases. It is able to fetch data from corrupted backups even if the most of backup file is lost. Moreover, it can use metadata definitions from healthy backup and use them to retrieve data from backup with damaged metadata.

IBBackupSurgeon allows reading and extracting all metadata of database, including text of stored procedures, triggers, computed fields and so on. Metadata are represented in raw text and SQL.

Licensing and pricing

Three versions of IBBackupSurgeon are available: "Basic", "Pro" and "Tech Support". Basic version is enough to save data from usually corrupted backups, and Pro version allows to re-use structure of intact backup in order to save data from heavily corrupted backups with the same structure. Tech Support is applicable when you need to use IBBackupSurgeon for fixing backups, owned by third-parties (there are license restrictions, please read the license).
